Day 35 of 100 Days Of Code
Day 35: August 28, Tuesday
Today ‘s Progress: I continued work on React.js Introduction to the React Challenges.
Thoughts: Still struggling through the React challenges with no relevant examples. I don’t see the benefit to the added complexity at all I am going to hate the projects for this.
Resources used:
//Add Event Listeners
class MyComponent extends React.Component {
constructor(props) {
super(props);
this.state = {
message: ''
};
this.handleEnter = this.handleEnter.bind(this);
this.handleKeyPress = this.handleKeyPress.bind(this);
}
// change code below this line
componentDidMount() {
document.addEventListener('keydown', this.handleKeyPress)
}
componentWillUnmount() {
document.removeEventListener('keydown', this.handleKeyPress)
}
// change code above this line
handleEnter() {
this.setState({
message: this.state.message + 'You pressed the enter key! '
});
}
handleKeyPress(event) {
if (event.keyCode === 13) {
this.handleEnter();
}
}
render() {
return (
<div>
<h3>Input Render:</h3>
<p>{this.props.input}</p>
<h1>{this.state.message}</h1>
</div>
);
}
};
A few relevant examples would be Awesome. I think I need to find a few good tutorials.
